What Do We Do?

The Gift of Soccer Foundation collects and redistributes gently used soccer gear and resources to kids locally, regionally, and worldwide.

To date, we have sent over 48,000+ pieces of soccer gear to 20 different countries across six continents, making a difference in the lives of children by giving them access to the sport. Our impact has been made possible through 31 donation drives, bringing communities together to support youth in need. Join Us Today!

Why did we start GOS?

As youth soccer coaches, managers, and parents, we witnessed firsthand how much usable soccer gear was being discarded each season—cleats that no longer fit, jerseys worn for just a year, and balls replaced before their full lifespan was up. At the same time, we knew there were children in underserved communities, both locally and around the world, who didn’t have access to even the most basic soccer equipment. Seeing this waste alongside the need was frustrating, and we knew there had to be a way to bridge the gap.
That realization led to the creation of The Gift of Soccer Foundation. Instead of letting perfectly good gear go to waste, we began collecting and repurposing it, giving children the opportunity to play and benefit from the sport, no matter their circumstances. Soccer is more than just a game—it teaches teamwork, discipline, and confidence.

As parents, we also wanted to teach my own children and our community about giving back and being appreciative of the opportunities they have. Through The Gift of Soccer, we’ve been able to show young players that their old gear can make a real difference in someone else’s life. It has become more than just a donation effort—it’s a way to instill a sense of gratitude and social responsibility in future generations.

Every time we see a child receive their first real pair of cleats or watch a community come together through soccer, we are reminded why we started this mission. The Gift of Soccer isn’t just about gear—it’s about giving kids a chance to dream, play, and grow while fostering a culture of generosity and compassion.

What is "The Problem"

The Gift of Soccer Foundation is dedicated to addressing the lack of access to sports and recreational opportunities for underprivileged children, both locally and globally. Many children in underserved communities lack the necessary soccer equipment to participate in activities, limiting their ability to engage in physical activity, develop teamwork skills, and experience the joy of play. Additionally, economic barriers prevent families from purchasing gear, creating disparities in youth sports participation.

How we Solve "The Problem"

By collecting and repurposing gently used soccer equipment, we provide children with the resources they need to play, learn, and grow. This not only promotes physical health and social development but also fosters inclusivity and sustainability by reducing waste. Soccer has the power to inspire and uplift communities worldwide, yet far too many children are unable to participate simply because they lack a ball, cleats, or a jersey. Our distribution partners rely on our donated soccer equipment to enhance their humanitarian efforts, as the gear not only provides children with opportunities to play but also helps build trust within communities, making their outreach more effective and impactful.

The Gift of Soccer works to bridge this gap by redistributing donated equipment to children in need, ensuring that no child is left out due to financial limitations. Our efforts help create equal opportunities for youth to engage in a sport that builds confidence, discipline, and community. Through our work, we aim to level the participation field, allowing every child—regardless of their background—to experience the lifelong benefits of sport and community.

The Gift of Soccer Foundation receives gently used soccer gear from generous donors across the country, including cleats, jerseys, balls, shin guards, and other equipment, which we repurpose to support underserved children and communities worldwide.

What Age Groups Do We Support?

The Gift of Soccer Foundation supports children and youth of all ages, ensuring that every child, regardless of their stage of development, has access to the joy and benefits of playing soccer.

Early Childhood (Ages 3-6): We provide small-sized soccer balls, cleats, and jerseys to introduce young children to the sport in a fun and engaging way. At this age, soccer helps develop motor skills, coordination, and social interaction.

Elementary School (Ages 7-12): This age group benefits from appropriately sized soccer gear, including cleats, shin guards, and uniforms, allowing them to participate in school and community leagues. Playing soccer at this stage helps build confidence, teamwork, and physical fitness.

Teenagers (Ages 13-18): Many teenagers face financial barriers that prevent them from accessing quality soccer equipment. We support this age group by providing gear suitable for competitive play, including higher-quality cleats, jerseys, and soccer balls. Soccer at this level promotes discipline, leadership, and opportunities for future athletic and academic success.

Young Adults (Ages 18+): In some regions, we also support young adult programs, particularly in underserved communities and refugee camps, where soccer serves as a tool for social connection, mentorship, and community engagement.

By supporting these various age groups, The Gift of Soccer ensures that every child and young adult, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to develop a lifelong love for the game while learning valuable life skills.

Internationally, we collaborate with humanitarian organizations, nonprofits, and volunteers who use our donations to empower communities, promote youth development, and foster social change. From schools in Central America to refugee programs in Africa, our donations help bridge the gap for children who would otherwise be unable to play.
