About Medical Go Kits – Where did it All Start?
Welcome to my mission-driven initiative, dedicated to addressing women’s health disparities, enhancing community health, and empowering underserved populations. As a pre-med student with a passion for women’s health and supporting resource-limited communities, I’m committed to bridging public health and individualized care through education, advocacy, and improved access to vital resources for women’s health supplies such as: feminine hygiene supplies and basic first aid essentials. I believe future physicians play a key role in building an inclusive and responsive healthcare system, and that real progress is achieved when communities work together. Join me on this journey to create healthier communities and to better understand the complex challenges and opportunities within healthcare.
Interview on NATV – Outpost Ice Arenas
At the New Mexico Ice Wolves Game, Jess highlighted the crucial role of Medical Go Kits in providing accessible healthcare resources and uniting sports with health advocacy. She stressed that this initiative not only meets the needs of underserved women and families but also promotes community engagement, urging fans to join the vital conversation on health equity. By sharing this message in an energetic environment, Jess motivated attendees to support both athletic pursuits and essential healthcare efforts, illustrating that together we can build a healthier and more empowered community for all.
She has collection bins set up at The Outpost Ice Arena, Little Gym on the Westside, The Lobo Respect Center at UNM.
Who I am – What I Believe
Jessie Levandoski
Medical GOkit Founder | GOS Board Member
I am someone who finds joy and purpose in my relationships and the roles I play in the lives of those close to me. As a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a girlfriend, a niece, a cousin and a friend, I strive to be supportive, compassionate, and dependable. Beyond these relationships, I am deeply committed to my journey in healthcare. As a pre-med student studying biology and chemistry at the University of New Mexico, I am constantly inspired by the complexity of science and its potential to improve lives. I am especially passionate about women’s healthcare and the opportunity to advocate for greater awareness and accessibility within this field, as well as basic necessities for families within these regions as well. My experiences as a volunteer in healthcare settings have taught me the profound impact of compassionate presence and active listening, reinforcing my drive to provide empathetic, patient-centered care.
Why? – Healthcare Disparity
At the heart of this initiative is a commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and supporting vulnerable families, both in our region and globally. Access to essential health supplies, particularly for women, is a fundamental human right. Yet, millions of people, especially women in underserved communities, face barriers to meeting these needs. Limited healthcare access and education leave families vulnerable to preventable issues. Our initiative provides women’s health resources and basic first aid kits, including bandages and antiseptic, to encourage families to handle minor injuries at home. By providing basic resources like women’s health supplies and first aid kits, we aim to empower families to care for their loved ones during emergencies, offering a sense of preparedness in the face of healthcare challenges. By equipping families with these tools, we aim to reduce unnecessary emergency visits and improve health outcomes. Ultimately, we strive to build healthier, more resilient communities where women and families can thrive.
Partnership with the Gift of Soccer Foundation
I serve as a board member on a non-profit foundation called The Gift of Soccer Foundation where our mission is to empower underprivileged youth around the world through soccer. This month’s drive is going to be supplemental to The Gift of Soccer’s donations to Chile, Belgium, Ecuador, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama. By including essential healthcare items alongside soccer gear donations, we will address both recreational and basic health needs. This approach fosters healthier, more empowered communities, ensuring children experience the joy of play while also having access to vital healthcare and support.
