Game Changing Impact – 1,000 Soccer Gear Donations & Medical Kits Heading to Uganda!

The Gift of Soccer Foundation recently hosted another successful Pack-Up Event, bringing together dedicated volunteers to prepare essential soccer gear and medical supplies for underserved communities. With the support of 7 teams from the New Mexico Rapids Girls Academy (07s, 08s, 09s, 10s, 11s, & 12s), we sorted and packed 1,000 pieces of soccer gear to be distributed worldwide.

This year, alongside our soccer gear donations, we introduced our newest initiative: MedicalGoKits, providing essential feminine hygiene and first aid kits to communities in need. These supplies will travel with our gear shipments, ensuring that children not only receive the gift of soccer but also critical health resources.

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and our incredible partners, these donations are heading to Uganda, where they will bring joy, hope, and opportunity to kids eager to play the game they love. The Event

The energy at the Pack-Up Event was inspiring! Our New Mexico Rapids Girls Academy volunteers worked tirelessly, folding and organizing soccer jerseys, shorts, cleats, socks, and more to ensure that every item was ready for shipment. Their dedication and teamwork made it possible to prepare 1,000 pieces of gear, which will soon be in the hands of children who need them most. In addition to soccer gear, our volunteers helped assemble Medical Go Kits—feminine hygiene and first aid kits that will be distributed alongside our soccer gear shipments. This initiative is aimed at improving access to basic medical necessities for young athletes and families in underserved regions. A special thank you to Chick-fil-A for sponsoring gift cards for our hardworking volunteers, showing appreciation for their time and effort. We also want to recognize The Center for generously providing the venue for this impactful event.

The Mission

At The Gift of Soccer Foundation, we believe in the power of soccer to bring communities together and provide opportunities for growth, teamwork, and joy. By repurposing gently used soccer equipment, we give kids the chance to play, regardless of their background or circumstances.

This year, we expanded our mission by launching MedicalGoKits, ensuring that alongside soccer gear, children also receive vital health and hygiene resources. Access to these essentials can make a profound impact on the well-being of young athletes and their families.
