Celebrating Year Two of Partnership: Chick-fil-A & The Gift of Soccer Foundation Team Up to Thank Volunteers
At The Gift of Soccer Foundation, we believe in the power of community—and we are especially grateful when that community includes generous partners who help us recognize the heart of our work: our volunteers.
This year, we’re thrilled to celebrate our second consecutive year of partnership with Chick-fil-A, a company known as much for their warm, personable service as their delicious food. Since 1967, when founder S. Truett Cathy opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Atlanta, the Cathy family has built a legacy of service and generosity that spans generations. Today, under the leadership of Andrew Cathy, that same spirit of giving continues—and we’re honored to be a part of it.
Spreading Gratitude with a Side of Kindness
Thanks to Chick-fil-A’s generous gift card donations, we’ve had the incredible opportunity to express our deepest appreciation to the volunteers who help us deliver The Gift of Soccer to youth across the globe. These gift cards have become more than just a token of thanks—they’re a way for us to show heartfelt gratitude to the people who make our mission possible.
This year, we were proud to work alongside seven dedicated teams from the New Mexico Rapids Girls Academy (07s through 12s). These young athletes generously gave their time and energy to sort and pack more than 1,000 pieces of gently used soccer gear, which are now headed to under-resourced communities worldwide. To recognize their hard work and enthusiasm, we provided Chick-fil-A gift cards as a sincere thank you. We hope those meals were enjoyed as much as we appreciated their support!
Colorado Kindness: Boulder Joins the Movement
Another inspiring story came out of Boulder, Colorado, where a passionate group of supporters organized a full-scale collection and pack-up event for The Gift of Soccer. Their hard work and commitment will help deliver gear to youth in Uganda and Ecuador, spreading the joy of soccer far and wide. As with our other volunteer teams, we provided Chick-fil-A gift cards to express our appreciation for their time, heart, and dedication.
From New Mexico to Mexico
We also extended our thanks to the amazing members of Citizens Church, who embarked on a road trip to deliver soccer gear across the border to Mexico. Their commitment to ensuring that equipment made it safely into the hands of children in need is a beautiful example of our community in action—and we were proud to send them off with Chick-fil-A gift cards to keep them fueled and appreciated along the way.
We also gave gift cards to volunteers who drove gear from Denver for our Pack Up Event with The NM Rapids Girls teams.
A Partnership That Pays It Forward
Our partnership with Chick-fil-A reminds us that kindness and collaboration are powerful tools for change. With each meal shared and every thank-you card handed out, we’re reinforcing a culture of gratitude that empowers volunteers to continue their selfless work.
